Bard' SoftMesh offers flexibility, smooth rounded corners and a large pore knit structure that won't unravel or fray when cut. It is 60% lighter than standard polypropylene mesh, for surgeons who may prefer to implant less foreign body material and features a soft, thin knit structure that facilitates mesh positioning. Large pore construction improves visibility during laparoscopic repairs with less mass than traditional polypropylene meshes, which may produce a more flexible scar plate. Additionally, Bard' SoftMesh encourages prompt fibroblastic tissue response into the monofilament polypropylene which allows for a strong repair and helps reduce the chance of recurrence while improving body wall compliance. Bard' SoftMesh can be used in a tension-free inguinal hernia repair technique.
